Andrew Welters is technology investor and entrepreneur focused on creating, growing, and investing in ideas that improve the human experience. In 2013, Andrew founded the BTLR app, a mobile concierge for live sporting and entertainment events looking to enhance the fan experience and drive digital engagement in venues.

Not satisfied with just one day job, Andrew founded 5Lion Holdings, LLC. in 2014. 5lion is an early stage venture firm focused on Seed and Seed+ funding in the U.S. and Europe. The firm’s core belief that ‘people are the business,’ is reflected in 5Lion’s endless pursuit to identify truly disruptive ideas and the people behind them.

Once involved, Andrew and his partners put their full suite of services to work. Assisting with everything from funding, operational advisory, and strategic growth acceleration, to targeted networking and sophisticated business development. 5Lion prides itself on giving early stage companies reach into and extensive network that traditionally, companies would not have access to at that stage.

As a founder himself, Andrew’s experience in building from the ground up gives him a unique perspective when it comes to evaluating and conducting diligence on prospective ideas, teams, and investments.

A native Washingtonian, Andrew serves on the board of The Washington Jesuit Academy as the head of the development committee. He is also on Advisory councils of The Maret School and The AnBryce Foundation. Mr. Welters received a BA in History from the University of Notre Dame.
